First Love Yourself Workshop

Appropriate for people of all ages, the First Love Yourself (FLY) workshop will help you connect to your deep self-love and divine appreciation. Led by experienced yoga therapist, Deborah Charnes, this powerful therapeutic workshop is offered pre-recorded and on-demand to meet your unique and personal scheduling needs.

The 90-minute FLY session features some of Deborah's favorite restorative heart-opening poses. As participants sink into the relaxing asanas, she reads poetry and leads guided meditation and introspective exercises. For example, inspirational wisdom from luminaries like Maya Angelou, Leo Buscaglia, Marianne Williamson, and Radhanath Swami set the ambiance to soak in self-love.

Additionally, you receive access to downloadable handouts to print at home.

Furthermore, as a Continuing Education Provider (YACEP), this session is eligible for 1.5 CEUs with the Yoga Alliance. Finally, your purchase entitles you to lifetime access to experience the session as many times as you desire. FLYing is an ongoing process and a worthwhile, beautiful practice that can be enjoyed time and time again.

About Deborah:
In 2011, Deborah Charnes left the high-pressure demands as an international corporate marketing communications strategist. Moving forward, she dedicated that same energy to positive transformation—of herself and others. In essence, she vowed to never stop learning or sharing.

As a result, Deborah draws on her decades of training and practice to help others through simple techniques that can be practiced anywhere, anytime. The Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) also has the rank of E-RYT 500 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) and is a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP).

Truth be told, the First Love Yourself workshop is Deborah's favorite.

"To me, FLY means freedom. Tenzin Rinpoche, a Tibetan Bon lama, in a talk about Dream Yoga, said freedom leads to happiness and you must feel free inside to feel contentment.

Deborah adds, "When I picture the word FLY I imagine a bird soaring, close to the heavens. Of course, I also equate those three letters with getting on a plane and taking off. For example, traveling anywhere in the world at high speeds is an example of ultimate freedom in my mind. I consider travel, priceless."
"I am 59 years old and feel like I am a young 10-year-old learning a wonderful new experience. I truly appreciate Deborah sharing what she knows as I feel it has really helped me. "
~ Laura, yoga therapy client

Since I started yoga therapy, my life changed. I started to change the products that I have in my kitchen ... quinoa, chia, teas, ginger, and more salads. Beyond my new way to eat, I feel much better. Now, I sleep all night long. I feel so relaxed. More energized. I found a new world of “no stress” and happiness … I’m on my way with awesome results. Thanks, Deborah.
~ Alfonso, yoga therapy client

"...Deborah is very knowledgeable and teaches at every level. As a beginner, I felt welcome and encouraged.
~ Renee, workshop participant

“From A to Z Deborah has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the multifaceted practice of Yoga. As an instructor, Deborah is sensitive to the needs of her students designing insightful, loving classes, focused around flow and spiritual guidance.”
~ Jorene, retreat attendee

"The journey of life is all about being mindful, intentional, positive, healthy, and sustainable. Attending yoga with Yogi Deborah Charnes, I learned how to be aware in every moment having gratitude for the environment around me. Yoga throughout this trip (Costa Rica) taught me how to sit and rest with myself and to love my body as it loves me. I was able to become more flexible and aware of my surroundings.“
~ Aleeya, retreat attendee

Below is a short sample of Deborah describing and demonstrating what FLY is all about:

Still not sure?

Wondering how this workshop could benefit you? Foremost, it will nourish and grow your concept of self-love, and self-love is important.

Why is self-love important? It is the foundation of all of our love experiences. Love for others, for nature, for life, springs from our foundation of self-love.

Sadly, though, many of us, through the years, acquire emotional baggage along the way. Often, we become weighed down by our disappointments and trauma. These experiences keep us stuck in old patterns that no longer serve us. FLY is an opportunity to release that baggage and adjust your relationship with yourself.

Think of it like this: When you go on a flight, you get in the air and head to your intended destination, but what happens with all your belongings? Most likely, you pack one or two bags and leave the rest behind, right? At airport check-in, you say goodbye to your bags for the duration of the flight.

In other words, you LET GO OF YOUR BAGGAGE. Rid yourself of whatever is pulling you back, dragging you around, or weighing you down. Release what is not necessary, or healthy, so that you can FLY.

Many pieces of baggage are heavy and hard to let go. Maybe we can drop them on the conveyor belt or store them in the overhead compartment. But as soon as the flight is over, we get nervous if they aren't right in front of us.

What kind of baggage is hard to release? Low self-esteem, self-worth, or self-respect. Nagging self-doubt, self-consciousness, or self-critiquing. Even worse is self-loathing. Regardless, we need to let go of all of that and stop judging ourselves, or others. Plus, we need to ignore, or disregard, what others may say or think about us. Precisely, all these are requirements to FLY.

The FLY workshop is all about moving toward self-acceptance and self-love, and you are invited to give it a try. You will be welcomed with open arms and hearts. Participate in the privacy of your own home. And, you can grow in peace and love. That is a win-win for everyone.

Get ready to FLY. Say yes to self-care.
